Srilanka Milk Rice

 Milk Rice is an aromatic, coconut rich breakfast meal we Sri Lankan’s LOVE. The locals there have many names but most call it the Kiribath or it goes by the name Paalchoru. This is everyone’s favourite comfort food. I love waking up to the smell of this dish early morning on the weekends. Have a bowl of this to fill your tummy and to be left with a feeling of pure heartwarming satisfaction. Ingredients ♥️ 2 cups Long-Grain White Rice ♥️ 4 cups Water ♥️ 1/2 tsp Salt or as needed ♥️ 1 cup Maggie Coconut Milk Powder Mix Pre-mix as directed on the box ♥️ small piece Cinnamon stick Optional ♥️ small piece Pandan Leaf Optional Instructions ♥️ On medium heat, use a deep wide enough pot to boil the rice, cinnamon stick, pandan leaf and salt with water. ♥️ When the water is absorbed to the rice, add the coconut milk at the end and mix well.  Sri Lankan fish bun is also is known ‘Malu paan is a triangle-shaped soft bread filled with curried potato and canned fish mixed with Sri Lankan spices. In Sri Lanka, we eat this as a snack or for breakfast. we even have a name for this sort of food we call them the ‘short eats” as the name suggests its another name for snacking in Sri Lanka. Dough Ingredients ♥ 220 g Flour ♥ 1 tsp Salt ♥ 50 ml Milk Fresh ♥ 1 tbsp Butter ♥ 1 Egg ♥ 7 g Yeast Instant yeast ♥ 3 tbsp Water Warm ♥ 1 tsp Sugar White sugar Fish filling ▢95 g Tuna or mackerel ▢1 Potato Cut in quarters ▢1 tsp Ginger Chopped ▢1 tsp Garlic Chopped ▢2 tbsp Red onion Chopped ▢1 tsp Mustard seeds (Optional) ▢1 tsp Red chilli chopped ▢5 Curry leaves Chopped ▢1 tbsp Lime/Lemon juice ▢Salt to taste ▢Pepper to taste ▢1 tsp Curry powder ( Sri lankan or indian curry powder) ▢1/4 tsp Turmeric powder ▢1/2 tsp Cumin powder ▢1/2 tsp Chilli powder Recipe  ♥️ Add the yeast, sugar, water in a small bowl and mix well and leave aside for

This Chicken Quesadilla is an easy dinner idea! Tortillas layered with juicy bites of chicken, melty cheese, and veggies — kids and adults love them! Ingredients  ♥️ A Breast: you’ll need two boneless and skinless chicken breast cut into small pieces, or about 1 lb of meat. ♥️ Seasonings: we’re seasoning the chicken with a combination of chili powder, garlic powder, salt, dried oregano, onion powder. You can also use a store-bought taco seasoning. ♥️ Veggies: diced red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and red onion give the Chicken Quesadilla some extra texture, color, and flavor. Crispy Fries with Cheesy Homemade Cheese Sauce are the ultimate comfort food. They make a delicious side or a quick midnight snack/meal. Ingredients  ♥️ Potato ♥️ Milk  ♥️ Cheese ♥️ Seasoning ♥️ cornstarch Recipe  ♥️ Start off by peeling and cutting the potatoes into thin strips. You can leave the skin on or off. ♥️ Next, place them in deep oil at a high temperature until you begin to see golden color then remove the fries from the oil and dry on paper towels or wax paper. Lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper. How to Make Cheese Sauce for French Fries ♥️ To make cheese sauce for fries, you will need shredded cheese, milk, cornstarch, and seasoning. ♥️ While the fries are cooking combine the ingredients for the cheese sauce in a small pot or pan and heat on medium until it begins to simmer. ♥️ Mix it so it doesn’t clump up together After the sauce has come together, carefully pour into on the fries and top with pickled jalapenos, crumbled bacon, or your favorite toppings!

Easy Homemade Lunu Miris Recipe  ♥️ Lunu miris is red onion sambal mixed with chilli, its a classic and authentic Sri Lankan recipe, that is used as a side dish in many main meals What Do You Eat Lunu Miris With?? ♥️ Hoppers ♥️ Coconut roti (Sri Lankan pol roti) ♥️ Milk rice Ingredients ♥️ 100 g Red onion Chopped ♥️ 20 g Chilli flakes ♥️ 12 g Salt Table salt ♥️ 1 tsp Chilli powder ♥️ 20 g Lemon juice/ lime juice If using lime  juice then reduce to 15g ♥️ 20 g Maldive fish Optional Instructions ♥️ Soak Maldive fish in water for 10 minutes, then discard the water and add the Maldive fish to the mortar pestle and pound until it is smashed and palatable ( This step is only required if you wish to add Maldive fish) ♥️ Place all ingredients in a blender except the Maldive fish and blitz until it looks like a paste ♥️ Add the blended onion mixture to the mortar pestle and pound until it is well blitz ♥️ ( The reason why we are finishing it off in the
